Brady & Lincoln

This is a picture of Abraham Lincoln by Mathew Brady. It's the one that is seen on the five doller bill. I found these facts on Wikipedia:
Brady also photographed Abraham Lincoln on many occasions. His Lincoln photographs have been used for the $5 dollar bill and the Lincoln penny. One of his Lincoln photos was also used by the National Bank Note Company as a model for the engraving on the 90c Lincoln Postage issue of 1869.
Brady found a friend in Lincoln and Lincoln found a friend in Brady. Sadly though I also found this on Wikipedia:
Mathew Brady died penniless in the charity ward of Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, at five o'clock, on January 15, 1896, from complications following a streetcar accident.

  1. Dear Aidan,
I was able to see a collection of Lincoln photographs at the Bruce Museum last year. You could tell that the presidency and the Civil War aged Lincoln. Incidently, I love your blog!
